Noise from seat belt merchanism?

Every time I hit a speed bump or go over uneven roads while accelerating I keep hearing this clicking/creaking noise from both the driver and passenger side b-columns. I can't tell if it's the panels or the seatbelt mechanism. It seems to have gotten more prominent as time has gone on, maybe because lubrication has worn off or the panels just settled from temperature fluctuations or something. Has anyone else had this issue? Wanted to be armed with as much info as I can before I take it in because I'm sure the boneheads at the service center will give me the typical "it's normal" or "can't replicate it, maybe you hear a higher range than we do b/c you're younger" nonsense.

Sounds like it could be time to clean/protect the seals in the door jambs.

I've used aerospace 303 protectant and also used gummi pflege. Either one works great at protecting the rubber seals.

This should also stop the car from sounding like the car is flexing apart while going over uneven road surfaces or railroad crossings, speedbumps and the like.

Hope that helps.

I have a similar noise on a 6 month old 2013 750i, driver's side only.
To me sounds like if something is loose inside the pillar.

Some days it is hardly perceptible and others is more pronounced.

I have not been back for the 1st service yet, but plan to bring this up.

I am intrigued by the post above about using Aerospace 303 protectant - where exactly should this be applied?

My 2010 750i did this horribly, almost from the beginning! My 2012 AH7 had many fewer rattles and squeaks.....actually & sadly less than my 2012 Rolls -Royce (7 Series based) Ghost!!! Phantom.....SILENCE!! Build Quality is out of this world!!!

Here you go saving the world again I will try the 303 protectant! Now where exactly do you apply it ? On the rubber door seals ? Spray and wipe off ?
Thanks guys

I would just use a MF towel and apply as per instructions.
I would dampen the MF towel, apply to the seals, then wipe off if the instructions say to do that.

Apply to anything made of rubber that you see(and don't see...bottom of door). As long as you are there why not dress/treat the boot that covers the wires leading from the body to the door?

Its is really amazing how much noise those seals can make when they are not happy.

For the doorjamb/rubber molding challenged, here are a few photos:

Noise from seat belt merchanism?

Thanks for the tips. Never would have thought the seals could be the cause. I'll order some on amazon and give it a shot.

If you can't find what you need on amazon, try detailersdomain.com
I get all my supplies from Phil.
He has a sale going thru the 4th of July.

That is self restraint!

I usually find about $100 of stuff I could use/try every time I place an order.

I added some other stuff so I could get free shipping and when I was about to checkout, my total was close to $200 After an exercise in self restraint, I was able to get it under $100.

Great solution. The noise appears to be gone after applying the aerospace 303 protectant to the seals.

While the noise appeared to come from the eat belt mechanism, it looks like is was the seals

Got the 303 protectant from Amazon, free shipping because of prime, and avoided the temptation to buy more stuff

THANKS
