2013 M5 comfort setting

New 2013 M5 located - April 2013 - check !
Price negotiation started - Check!

Question: I have been through 320i, then 545i, then 335i, then 535i, my wife has the 750li,...
Now I know I am stepping my game up with the M5... Will I basically get a sports car? While it will not be my daily driver, I will occasinally drive her to work 200 miles plus one way a few times a year - I work in Houston but live in Louisiana...
Will I regret to get that bad girl on our roads? I have driven my son's camaro SS and if I would want muscles only, I just could go buy a Shelby GT-500 for 65K.... I want power, class/elegance,... but also comfort when I need it...
Is the comfort setting really work? I remember my 335i was hard on the road, and it had not comfort setting...
I really can not take the car for a 200 miles test drives, so... my question for the forum...
Is it going to be worse than the 335i with run flats?

It's a luxury car

When it's on comfort, it's smooth. Switch to sport and you can feel the bumps in the road. Comfort takes it up to the level of a Lexus IMO. So to me, it's the best of both worlds and I drove Lexus for 15 years before I bought my E60 2010 535i three years ago. That was definitely sportier and you could feel the road compared to the Lexus LS430 I gave to my daughter. So to me, it's pretty smooth in comfort but it's a very subjective thing.

I came out of a 750Li and a Z4 to a M5... I can say that the comfort setting on the M5 is a little more harsh than the comfort mode on a 7 series.... But that said, I find the seat on the M5 to be much more comfortable than on the 7, so in essence they balance out...... I would not hesitate to take the M5 on a cross country trip....

Really? I find the seats on the 7 to be the best in the business. My M5 seats are pretty good but not enough lower back support...

You have the STD Sports seats, upgrade to "Mutli-Funtion seats 20 way" and they are the best BMW make.

That M5 rocks over the road on any 200 mile trip!
