e36 convertible deck lid adjustment

Hello bimmer Buds,

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the convertible deck lid cover on a 1997 E36. The deck lid cover need to open another 1/4 inch to allow the convertible top to pass into the well. this is a full power top. my e-mail is ptjetpilot@hotmail.com

I think your boot strut is shot on the driver's side
If the top hits the boot on the way down it is the strut
If the boot hits the top on the way up your tension straps need either replaced or shortened 4 m/m of so.

Sry for opening an old thread, but did a search and cannot find how to adjust the stowage lid from side to side. I have a 1/2" gap on driver side and passenger is almost touching.
