what are you trying to pair? You will need an aux cable to do any kind of pandora and crap as it'll all have to be controlled through the Iphone or that split y cable for the rest (not sure if the 08's even have the USB), if you're just trying to do bluetooth that should be fairly simple and straight forward, ie setting a pair code and matching it and letting it sync.

Best settings would probably be everything in normal in the m drive drive and 2/3 on the transmission button.

Um, you shouldn't be worrying about MPG w this car. Just sayin. If you are worried about MPG, get a F series. Otherwise, you should be able to troubleshoot your pairing of phone. If the car is used, clear other phones that have been there if not done so you have some space for the pairing of your phone. If not and you have owned it since 2008, then it may need to been seen if you have gone through all the troubleshooting. GL

I would check the owner's manual to see if it has Bluetooth connectivity.
It might not have it.

I have a 2008 M3 and paired a new iPhone 5 yesterday. Go into your settings by pushing the silver knob down. It is where your m settings are. Once in settings scroll down until you see Bluetooth. Click on on it and then pair your phone. The code for mine to pair was 0000. See if this works.

Bluetooth is the last option in settings. That is where you also change your audio settings but you need to scroll all the way down to see Bluetooth.

Great and welcome to the club. I have had mine for a little over 3 weeks. At first the gas mileage bugged me but now I just drive it and it brings a smile to my face everyday. Drove it on the highway for an hour or so and averaged 21 miles per gallon. In the city I am getting about 15 in heavy traffic. So enjoy your new car and don't fret about the gas.

Mein Auto: 2012 640 ED, 2011 M3,
I started a thread a few months ago with the question about which DCT setting gives the best MPG and got no response....I guess most M3 drives don't care too much about fuel consumption...I think when you are driving the M aggressively every day, then fuel economy doesn't matter, but if you use the car as a daily driver, it does.....I find I get my best MPG using setting S4.....On highways i have gotten about 22, sometimes 23 if the wind is on my side....and will get about 18 in town with normal (non aggressive)driving.....

I think the bigger issue for me is the limited range on a tankful.......you really need to know where gas stations are along the way......but still love the M3.....just wish it has a bigger gas tank.....

If you are worried about MPG's then I would suggest the following:
1. Get in your new M3
2. Turn it on
3. Drive to the nearest dealership
4. Sell the car

Grill guy ... I asked a buddy who is a co-owner of a local BMW dealership. He answered all my questions.
I have got it all set and getting 23 miles per gallon at this time.
I could not be happier with my new toy... You have a nice M3 also...

23 mpg eh? I wonder how that is possible. You must drive like a grandma, hahaha. You are certainly not experiencing the M3 as it was meant to be.

But seriously, how are you getting 23 mpg?

I'm getting 20.4 HAMMERING it. 120+ multiple times when I keep in line and keep it in tranny setting 3 I get 22.8-23 easy.
