There is no difference in invoice price for options, whether you take delivery in the US or on ED. Only the base MSRP is different.

True but the way I read his post looked like the dealer was charging him US MSRP for options. Maybe I misunderstood.

Thank you for your responses. Yes, the dealer is charging ED MSRP for the car base price and US MSRP for the options, then offering a modest discount on the total. The way I read Quackbury's post is that this is correct in that options do not have ED MSRP themselves, i.e. options are always priced with a US invoice and US MSRP prices regardless if the car is purchased through ED or not. That I guess makes sense... but let me know if I misunderstood.

That is a lousy deal. I have always gotten my options at cost, excluding the first time. you should check your PM.

That is correct. What you should be paying is ED invoice (base car) + US invoice (options) + destination + $500-1000.

Does the SAT have Launch Control in the 2014 LCI? I associate it more with the SMG gearboxes, not the ZF8...

Thanks; I don't have good memories of the SMG in my old good 330i, but hopefully the current implementation of the Launch Control will be much better. Any links to some relevant technical info, please?

Didn't finish reading all the replies. As to the dashboard, if you re-read the pricing guide, it states "Mocha Nappa Leather with Black Dashboard", not "leather dashboard". This is to differentiate from the "Oyster Dashboard" in the Modern Line. IMO, leather dashboard is not included with the standard Nappa offerings.

Maybe it's off topic but: how do you find out invoice price? Ask a dealer?
I plan on ordering 550i, and based on the inputs I've read here, it seems that the way to do it would be: invoice price + $1,000 (or up to $1,500).

tnx

Just ordered my 2014 550 last week but no ED. Dealer says it will be here in early August but I was under the impression that us delivery would be at least a few weeks behind ED or am mistaken?

Congrats on your car, sir.

Thanks to reading a lot of your posts, and becoming informed on how EDs and leases really work I am getting my own first ED at quite a good deal!

That sounds reasonable. My 535i build finished 6/29 (8 days production time) and shipped out on 7/6. Depending on how many ports the ship hits, expect about 3 weeks to get to your east coast port, then several days at the VDC before it's trucked to your Dealer.

My car was complete 7/1 and shipped on 7/9 with an estimated arrival date of 7/26 at the VDC in Georgia. Not sure if the EPA sticker is still on hold but I guess there is a chance (albeit slight) that I may drive the car in July

I missed that your post was almost a month old
As of late last week the EPA hold was still in place on mine.
I've read posts where previous year models sat at the VDC waiting for EPA certification for up to 3 weeks. Hopefully that's not the case this year.

Congrats- I have a 2011 RWD 550i m-sport that I have been thinking about turning in and ordering a new one. I just cant take black cars anymore and a white 550 2014 is in my radar. My question to you is Elmhurst BMW worth the trip over there. It sounds like you had a decent experience. I have Fields by me and I have Knauz. Neither are that good...thanks
