Back Seat Space 3 v 4 series

Most of the reviews compare the old coupe to the new coupe (4 series) and state that the 4 is longer and wider. Has anyone seen any comparisons on internal space of the 3 v 4? Can a normal person sit in a 4's back seat?

I read a review that mentioned the back seat and they said that is was comfortable for two adults, but I haven't seen any specific dimensions showing a comparison of the two.

To me it's not so much the space but if you are going to have people (adults) in your backseat frequently, do you want to make them climb in there all the time? I like the idea of a coupe but have avoided them for this reason.

I generally don't have adults riding back there (or anybody for that matter). But if I need to, I need to make sure it isn't like most coupes where they expect you to be 3' tall.

And yeah, I'm intrigued by the coupe as I thought all along I'd just get a sedan.

The back seat of the 4 is big but isn't not amazing. I can sit in the back seat of the F30 3 series comfortably. The back seat of the 4 series I have to tuck my head, it wouldn't be comfortable for longer then a 10-15 minute ride. That being said I am 6'5" and the F32 does have more head room then the E92.

More space than the E92, less space than the F30.

So, you're one of those freaks of nature. . If the F32 has better rear seat headroom than the E92 that's a pretty impressive accomplishment given its lower slung exterior roof design. The E92 has more than adequate headroom for non-freakish physiques.

Have you sat in the backseat of an E92? It's surprisingly comfortable. Less room than a sedan, but not a fake backseat either. The biggest issue is contorting yourself to get in the backseat. My svelte 19-year old daughter and 80-year old mother-in-law can do it, but I bet there are a lot of fat Americans who can't.

On the 4 Series I'd worry about the headroom, as I believe the car isn't as high as the E92.

i've sat in an e92 back and its tolerable for like a 30 min ride, but i wouldn't take a road trip back there. the F30/F32 is longer so it would make sense at least there'd be more legroom, even the back of an E90 isn't that comfortable honestly if everyone in the car is 6' tall.

I'm guessing the F32 will be a little bit better than the e92, but still probably not... hey lets drive for 5 hours somewhere level good. can't really expect it honestly. if you sit in the back of a F12 6 series, its pretty terrible so i can't imagine it being much better in a F32.

Took the words out of my mouth. Sitting in the back seat of a M6 makes you appreciate the size of the 3 series back seat. One would think a car that size would be roomier.

Actually, I didn't find the M5 back seat that much more spacious than the 3 series.

(and yes I've never been in the back seat of a non "M" 5/6 series of this generation. Blame the M Perf School)
