Unhappy ticking noise from door lock/seal when hot...

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

when driving, on regular non-harsh pavement, I get a clicking/ticking noise right near my left ear.... I thought it was coming from the seat belt area at first, but later I realized it was coming from the door lock/seal. because when i push the door outwards (while driving), the ticking noise goes away.

this only happens after the car's been parked outside, in hot temperature for a while.

i took it in to the dealer 3 times and they were not able to reproduce the issue.

anyone know if there's a simple fix to make this noise go away?

Sounds to me it's plastic creaking / clicking that you are hearing. My cabin makes those noises all over.

I noticed a similar sound driving through the Mohave desert area going about 85 mph. Found it to be the black trim piece on the driver's door. Pushed on it and it moved slightly, so applied more pressure to re-seat the trim piece - no more clicking sound. When we returned home, I shimmed the slight space between the trim and the door with a small piece of black duct tape and that took care of the clicking. The wind buffeting plus the hot weather was probably the cause of the sound - not very noticeable except it was right by my ear!
