My Journey

Ok so I had to take a trip to mecanicsburg,pa from philadelphia thats a total of 111 miles each way. I decided to test out the eco-drive feature to see how much gas it will save. I was going about 80 mph the whole way down . I was really suprised when I looked down at the gas after arriving and seeing that I didnt even burn a quarter of a tank. Thats really impressive. I also noticied my miles for the tank went from 275 to 432 miles. HOLY **** what a difference. Also I had a couple nice challenges on the way. On the way up some cute blonde in a 330 ci wanted to play tag so i played along . In the midst of that I see another car coming down the merging ramp a montego blue coupe so we are next to each other and both of us looked over as to see what the other had. he slows down and takes a glimpse of the back of my car and he started inching back up. So i slow down to catch a glimpse i figured its a 328 to my suprise it was a 335. So at this point we both look at each other and figure it on. So we both take off going about 60 at the time neck and neck and once we start to flirt with 110 i notice im about 3 ft ahead and it stayed that way until 130-135 so i slowed down and so did he . I couldnt believe a f30 sedan beat a e92 coupe. Also, on the way home took on a Acura TL type S not going to lie at first i was a little scared but i went for it and he did keep up though too about 100 but after that i started pulling ahead . So overall i learned alot this trip!

My Journey

Maybe it's my age, but I read this story and didn't think "cool story bro"... I thought " driving 100+ on public roads while racing strangers, how %#%#$@& irresponsible".

Maybe I will get flamed for it, but racing others on public freeways is pretty much never safe.

"Caravaning",on deserted back roads, canyon carving, etc, a-ok!

Nah, I'm 23 and agree.

If you're going to speed relentlessly, fine. I mean, not fine, not cool, but just don't go posting about it ...

That's the first thing I thought. Want to do 130? Take it to the track.

OP gives BMW drivers crappy reputations. Go to a track. By the way you didn't take the 335, he let you or had more sense than you.

You obviously haven't learnt enough, otherwise you wouldn't be so damned irresponsible and stupid as to race complete strangers at 130+. Or did you think we'd all be impressed?

Chav.

Eco pro limit can be configured to be 75 or less. It only gives a warning when xeeding limit.

Re: My Journey

Enough with the bashing! Drive safe and enjoy your car. Bimmers are awesome at slow as well as fast speeds. Good mileage - point noted.

I have a 335xi sedan i assumed he had a 328. I feel that going at a high speed with wide open road is complete ok.There is risk involved in everything you do. So racing for 30 secs or so on an empty straight roadway is ok with me

As I assume you have learned, there is risk associated with bragging about foolish driving on Bimmerfest. Talk to us when you become an adult driver.
