I too was considering the GT before. When the 2014 price came out, I compared the same configuration 2013 vs 2014 and the 2013 was cheaper (can't remember by how much).

I ran the numbers for both 535 and 550 while I was under the influence of severe mental oxygen deprivation (SMOD happens when your eyes dilate, jaw drops and you hear but don't listen to those around you due to BMW BYO website envy...I'm trying to get the AMA to recognize it as a legitimate disease so I can sell a pill for it). So right off the bat you lose the value package between MYs ($1600) and base price increase ($1700). Ironically the 550 base goes up only $100 so the gap between the two when equally optioned out is now only $3250 neglecting gas guzzler tax. So the government is right, there is no inflation as long as you're willing to shell out $75k+.

Fortunately my better half talked me off the ledge when we realized the 550s can be priced the same or within $5k of the 535s CPO'd with more options on average.

daders, I have nothing to add about the issue but I really enjoyed your last post for its humor. Laugh out loud funny! Good luck in your GT quest.......

Closing statements

Thanks everyone for your valuable input. Made the decision on Monday to pick up a 2010 CPO 550i due to all your feedback and my CA's statements that the 2010 F07 wasn't a "new" car as the chassis is based on F01 (2009-present), electronics are the same, and the N63 engine has been used since 2008. So why not let someone (with more money than us) take the majority of the depreciation hit.

Will receive the paperwork today since it was a remote purchase and hope to take possession by 10 Aug! Between the options, price and mileage it really was a no brainer and saved $20k over a less equipped 2013 535. We're so excited we're going to die!!!

I've already started prowling the coding forum but will fully investigate all the features prior to changing them...can't imagine the interminable wait on a new build!
