Backup Camera Issue

Hi. I have a 2013 335i sedan. In the past couple of days, I have noticed a weird issue with the backup camera. I can now see the top of my bumper on the screen. It's as if the camera is pointed at a different angle. Any ideas?

Thanks

I noticed this too just a few weeks ago...after not driving for about a week. On a side note, I also confirmed that my rear view mirror sags over a few days. Maybe the camera sags inside the lens housing?

I have the rear-view mirror issue as well, now that you mention it. I was hoping not to have to visit the dealer for another 10,000 miles (my 15K maintenance)

Should the bumper not be visible?
I ask because I can see the top of my bumper on the screen too.

I was starting to regret not getting the camera but seems like it might be more trouble than its worth..

The bumper has always been visible on my reverse camera. It helps me visually judge how close I am to things in addition to the PDC beeps.

First off, welcome aboard.

Do you have a single rear camera or do you have the surround cameras on the mirrors, etc?

You guys must be correct. I guess I had just never noticed it before. I must have become confused after washing it and getting the reflection of the sky and clouds on the bumper.

I do have the single rear camera.

Thanks for the welcome

I use the back up camera when I am parking in the lot where I work. I back up as close as possible to a van which is stored there.

I can see the van as I inch closer but within say 6 feet, it's hard to judge accurately how close is close. I keep inching back, closing the white space between my bumper the the van's. When I finally stopped last time, I was about 10 inches from the van.

It would be very helpful if the distance between the two closest objects (my bumper and what ever I am backing to) could be numerically displayed in feet or inches. Do any other car manufacturers offer this feature?

Much better implementation than in the last two Lexus we had. Their camera is mounted above and under the rear window.

BMW is low and at the end of the the car. Meaning we get to see a wider panorama than in Lexus as well as lower area behind the car...small kids, dogs, etc.
