jammed storage compartment

wife put a lot of loose change in storage compartment above ashtray compartment and now it won't open any ideas?

Try a small screwdriver and see if you can pry it open, gently of course.

Or It may be that several coins have lined up perfectly to prevent you from pushing in on the door. Next time you're in a parking lot with speed bumps, hit one a little harder than normal and jab repeatedly at the little door handle at the same time. Or maybe while going over a railroad crossing or similar bumps. Thinking you have to knock the change/crap loose in there (upward) to provide the space needed for the release to happen.

Worst case scenario you could take that whole assembly out (a few screws, 12v socket power connector and button connectors if I recall) and shake it/turn upside down while trying to open.

PUsh it while pulling it. It's not that hard. omg how much change did she put in that thing. I've only had it get stuck when the AUX cable get hung up in it.
