Mein Auto: Nothing Yet
Buying my first car.

Hey everyone I'm new to car forums and decided to give this once a chance because I've looked at threads at the past year and they have helped me out

For 8 years I have been saving through construction work and stocks to afford an e46 BMW M3. I have saved enough to purchase a BMW M3 (under 17k).

I have 6 months to look for a good deal because then I get my licence. I am going to be 18 years old and love this BMW model.

I fell in love with the e46 m3 but I am stuck. I love the color LSB (laguna sega blue) and really want it. The problem is they are only common on 01's. I really wanted to get an 2003.5 or 2004 and these cars when you find a good deal for them, they are not in LSB.

Is it worth to cut years to get an LSB 01 M3 (avg 66k miles) or should I get an any color 04 m3 (66k miles). Both will have smg and convertible.

I cant really do mods unless they're very basic (maybe leds but thats about it).

Would you sacrifice a couple years off the e46 m3 for the color? I need know know this for terms of reliability and a short pocket.

Please dont respond "insurance under 25 is bad" (i know) , or "too dangerous" ( 333hp is fun).

I will get an M3 I just dont know what year or color.

Thanks and I hope to get to know all of you better on the BMW forums

Buying my first car.

Make sure you have enough saved up for maintenance. Average yearly running costs can cost anywhere 1K-2K.

When I totaled my 328ci 2000 ... even in it's condition the cops and firemen gave me complements. Who cares what year you buy, like PapaB said.

Sorry to hear about your total. Bummer for sure. I totalled an 03 M3 a few years back. Still miss that car. I will own another someday though.
And totally agree with being prepared for maintenance cost, they can suprise you for sure. Not to mention the cost to the tires you will happily chew through.

Buying my first car.

You could always get a newer year and get it painted LSB
