Reset time and date 1987 535i

My battery died and now my time says ----UHR and everything was reset back to the metric system. How do I change the time and set everything back. I did what the manual said but didn't work. Let me know! Sorry 1986!*

The directions in the owner's manual should do the job. Perhaps you didn't press the small button in the right lower corner completely.
