M5 vs 550

I need your help I just found my dream car 2008 BMW M5 manual transmission, it has high mileage but it's all highway miles. But I'm also thinking on getting a 550 Mtech manual. Now keep in mind I have a good BMW mechanic in my pocket what is the better car?

like bringing a knife to a gun fight. the e60 M5 6speed marks the end of an era. (PDK only GT3 anyone?) if the car checks out, the price is right, and you've got a good indie mechanic...go for it!

I traded in my 550 for my M5:

I'm very happy with the swap. The 550 is better on dates when you need a smoother ride (both suspension and shifts were smoother), and it gets better gas mileage, but the M5 is better in every other way.
No matter which way you go, immediately order the front and rear camera setup from ModMyNav.com. I mounted the front camera low in the bumper so that I don't get too close to the curb stops when I pull into parking spaces - so many of these cars have scraped up front bumpers from not judging correctly exactly how low these cars truly are.
Look closely and you'll see the camera:

Edit - just remembered you said Manual M5 - ignore the harder shifts comment. Suspension is still softer and more comfortable in the 550, so for a family car where gas mileage matters, or one that the significant other will drive the 550 may win out. The M is just a beast that makes no apologies for said beasthood.
