Brake Controller Question

Hi: We have a 2014 X6 xDrive 35i and plan to tow a TT. We had BMW install their hitch and wiring kit.
Our next issue is what to do about a Brake Controller; which brand and install issues. We are thinking of just going with the one that BMW advertises in their "Accessories" section for an install price of $588 which includes the brake controller which appears from the pictures to be a Tekonsha. It looks like from the add picture that we will give up one of the drink holders...but perhaps they get it back into where the ash tray is ( doubt it)
Plus on this would be no cutting wires etc and impacting warranty and issues all come back to BMW as it is their hitch and their controller and their install.

We are a bit uneasy with the RF unit as they seem to have some issues with parring with BMW because of the LED lights / wiring in BMW's.

Any advice comments etc would be greatly appreciated.
