2014 X3 Purchase question.

Hi I'm really considering getting an X3 but I'm trying to figure out if I should wait for next year for the facelift, refresh or whatever is going on? When is the end of the build cycle for the X3?

I'm looking at the 2013 x28i vs 2014 x28i and I absolutely can not tell what has changed.

Was this LCI thing done on 2014 models?

The end of the model year should be around April. Just minor changes for the 2014 X3 such as option packages and update navigation software.

So in 2014 they will have a totally redesigned X3?

I was told today at the dealer the X3 design will not change much at all until 2015.

2014 X3 Purchase question.

Unless something has changed it is every 7 years for a "change" so this is in the middle of F25.

Little changes each year. Big change, to me, was the 2013. The 28i went from an inline 6 to turbo 4.

Option packages seem to be tweaked all the time. By advice is to learn them well. You may find based on your choice of options that the 35i is not much more than the 28i as some of the options are standard in the 35i. The roof was one item like that.

The 2014 will have a refresh, LCI, or minor mid-design cycle change. A Totally redesign X3 will be probably another 3-4 years.

That'll be the 2015, which will start being built in April of 2014. The total redesign will likely be for the 2018.

Sounds good, thanks guys.

Because I want it in white I noticed the black plastic around the body shows even more, so the M package fixes this and I like the M wheels better. I haven't got a chance to drive the 35i yet to compare in terms of power.

A word of warning, once you test drive the 35i, it is very hard to go back to a 28i

+ a million to this one. If you want a Prius get a Prius, if you want an X3 get a 35i.

If I could only afford a 28i MSport or a 35i with black body parts the 35i wins in my opinion. I didn't opt for the M as my wife liked the shape of the lower non m panels better and the black has not bothered me and am super happy we went with the bigger engine.

I have one more question to ask, this is regarding the offer I received. I just drove the 35i but I'm still a little on the fence if I should pay extra for it. The power is nice but I can live without it. I own a Pontiac GTO with a little over 400whp, so if I have the urge for speed that'l be my fix.

Is this a good discount for a lease?

BMW X3 28i

M-Sport Package =$3,000

Leather Nevada Chestnut = $1,450

Destination & Handling = $925

Total Built MSRP= $44,975

$2,900 Off

Total= $42,075

You're working the numbers the wrong way. Don't look at the discount off of List. Look at Invoice, and see what you're paying over Invoice. If you're paying more than $1000 over invoice than you're paying too much. Some think that paying more than $500 over invoice is too much, but I'm willing to leave a little more on the table. You're actually not too bad here.

Yup you're right.

Invoice $42,460

So this is a pretty good deal.

Not sure how you came up with that invoice number, it's a little high. But you still got a good deal.

I got the invoice from Truecar.com

What do think the invoice should be for this particular vehicle?

It's more like 41.4k I think (if you go to bmwconfig.com; not including MACO and training).

Also, check if they are any current cash incentives/rebates you qualify for (to be applied in addition to whatever is negotiated).

According to that website including MACO and Training $42,390.

Never heard of the MACO and Training thing before. So we have to put this into consideration if it's a U.S entry correct? And the rates vary from different states or regions in the U.S?

Also this website BmwConfig.com would it be concidered the most accurte source of information when it comes to pricing?

MACO and Training seem to be state to state issues. They don't exist in MA, but we usually get hit with a Dealer Prep fee and a Documents fee.

Sure they exist in MA, I just bought a BMW and saw the dealer's invoice, but they are different from region to region.

Ah. I didn't see the invoice, and they're not broken out separately on any of the documents that I have.

2014 X3 Purchase question.

I just ordered a 2014 35 m sport every option ticked. MSRP close to $59K and got it for 7.25% off, which is effectively invoice.

Net $1k driving event I'm actually below invoice

Base rate of .00125 and residual of 56% for 12K, no other markups, I'm at about $725 per month.

Drive offs also reduced by $1k for loyalty and turn key

Well, that's why I think is better to look at the "real" invoice without any added fees on some of the more dependable web sites, and then just see the total added to that. It doesn't really matter if it is called MACO or document or whatever. In my case all added was a couple hundred bucks to the invoice and (back in 2013) I got $1750 in incentives, so the final price was significantly less then the invoice.

Well, it can be argued that all the essential stuff that was in premium package in 2013 is now standard so not a bad way to save money. But I would recommend getting the lighting.

I agree, the lighting package is a must. The xenon on the X3 is very bright and the X3 just doesnt look right without the signature BMW LED angel eyes.

Yea I just noticed the difference in the lighting package. I assumed all BMW's had that standard by now and never really payed much attention.

So it's added now, as for the premium package I can live without. I'm not into panoramic moonroof's which is pretty much what you're paying for.
