Interesting. My car is a USA spec car. Ordered and purchased through a US dealer. I did order the car last May as soon as the price guides were released.

The dealers often put in their 'stock floorplan' orders shortly after that opportunity becomes available...those get on the production schedule as they come in. Should a dealer opt to let you use one of their slots already allocated to customize yours, they can, depending on the timing. It's pretty much a first come, first served scheme, and the dealers likely have a lot of stock on order given that there are running changes. A new, not previously allocated slot just goes to the end of the line should you want them to order one for you. It does not surprise me that new orders for Euro delivery are somewhat delayed. Throw in the model change, the normal Euro summer vacation binge (trying to get something done in August over there is tough!), and things being slow during the startup of a model change doesn't surprise me.

FWIW, a new, Euro delivery initiated order does not come out of a dealer's allocation, but does count towards meeting their sales quotas, nor does he pay any floorplan or advertising fees, so it's cheaper for him to accept a Euro delivery initiated order than to reassign a 'floorplan' slot to you.

Avi, went to your link for the pictures and realized that I had missed the entire thread which I read of course. Love the blue colour and the steering wheel. I hope you obtained the promise to change the trim in writing. Happy GT motoring!
