Comfort Access

Do all X5's have the comfort access--I have to put the key in the ignition to start the car and would rather not have to do that--how do I turn on Comfort Access, if I have it on this auto?

Comfort Access? This is the e53 X5 forum (1999-2006)....you don't give any information in a signature or other as to what model/model year X5 you have...but starting this fall...there will be 3 generations of X5s that could be anything from a 2000-2014 model year. Not identifying which model year X5 you have can create a situation where no one will answer your questions because you don't leave enough info.

The CAS system didn't debut on an X5 until the e70 generation...and this is the e53 X5 forum. And if memory serves me correct, CAS is an option...thus some may have the option and some may not. Again, it depends on what model/model year X5 you have.

The X5 I have is a 2009 30i AWD, if that will help--sorry I didn't put that in earlier.

Thanks for the update...just remember to add it to your car info...or create a signature that includes your info...so that it always appears and those answering your post will have what they need to reply with correct info. . You may also want to use the e70 X5 forum since that's what you have.

If you pull up your build sheet...and see option code S322A...then you have the comfort access option you're inquiring about...if not listed, then you don't have the option installed. Go to this site & register...then enter the last 7 digits of your VIN (it's free & simple to do): http://www.bmwvin.com/

And here's a link that describes CAS & the BMW models & model years that have the "option"...you can scroll thru the 24 pages at the following link: http://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/57482637#
