Growling

Non-techie but dedicated driver.

'98 Z-3. Manual. 48K.

When I slow, I hear a definite "growling" (bearing-like) under 25 mph whether coasting, in gear or breaking.

Have tried to hear when accelerating but not sure.

Any suggestions? Took to BMW garage who said cupped tires. Not happy with that explanation..tho it could be correct.
