USB/AUX Socket Question

Hi Guys,

I'm a new lease takeover owner of a 2012 X1 and my USB Port doesn't work at all.
After looking carefully I can see the pins are broken. Does anyone know the part number and how to take it off and replace it?

Thanks

Here you go

Had the same problem. Dealer replaced it under warranty since the USB port broke the first time I tried to use it. Check out these links:

Thanks I'll contact the dealer and hope that they can do the same.

No problem. It took them just a few minutes to swap the part at the service department. Hey, I used to live on Guy Street and Lincoln Ave - Go Habs.

Let me know if they replace it under warranty.
Dealer said it is not and charged me $240.

After that happened, I found the part on Ebay for ($30) a lot cheaper than the dealer! Nice to have a spare just in case. There are 2 part numbers - the old version starts with 6 the new version starts with 8. Mine is a 2011 MY so I got the older version part number but I understand it interchanges.

Re: USB/AUX Socket Question

Thanks I'll ask the dealer today if they charge me I'll probably just buy the piece and change it.

I've read the other posts and it just seems to be a pulling and plugging.

That's cool. I can't wait for the start of the season in a few weeks. Where do you live now?

Great news! It seems to me this is a common problem - perhaps the combination of a not very well made part and the location/orientation of the port. In my case, the service department even had the part stocked. (BTW I now live in the pacific northwest but have the fondest memories of Montreal)
