How long did your X1 sit in Germany before shipping?

I think mine sat for more than a week and a half. I thought they forgot about it!

Mine was off the line and on the ship in only a couple days. It's all about timing I think.

Mine was finished being built on 8/14 and got to the port on 8/17. It's still waiting at the port as of this morning.

You guys are lucky. I gave back my Euro Delivery X1 on June 11th, and got it today 11 weeks later. Bought it on March 19th. Good thing it was just spare car, but it is a hell of a car, and worth the wait.

As I understand it, the ED cars are set to a lower priority than ordered, US delivery, vehicles. So when someone drops off an ED car, it goes to the "back of the line" in a sense. I sure hope our doesn't sit there too much longer or it will cost me $1000. We have that Ultimate Drive $1000 off coupon, but you must take delivery by 10/31/2013. We ordered on 7/30. I figured 3 months would given us a month to spare. Good thing I didn't wait much longer. I didn't anticipate it sitting in Bremerhaven for over 10 days. Just sitting there, rotting on the docks... longing to be free... free to roam the uneven pavement of the 405.

^I understand ED adding a layer of complexity so I'm happy.

I don't quite understand some people ordering and getting in 5 weeks although it's possible a car was found like ordered and swapped around.

My X1 was hanging out at Brunswick, Ga port for an extra 3 weeks for no reason given.

Your car has 9 weeks to get here so you should get by that time.

Ours has to go through Panama to be delivered to Port Hueneme near Los Angeles. It's a 4 week trip just to be offloaded in the US port, once it gets on a ship (whenever that happens).

My Build:
X1 xDrive35i
M Sport
Le Mans Blue Metallic
Sand Beige 'Nevada' Leather
Ultimate Package
Heated front seats
Light Fineline Wood Trim
18 in. all season tires

I am taking delivery at my dealer in Richmond, VA. Then doing the "Performance Delivery" in SC after the plant tours resume after May, 2014

Been at the port since 8/13, not on a ship yet. I am selling my 2008 Infinity EX35 to my dealer tomorrow. Then will be out of the country until 9/18. Dealer is going to give me a loaner car if my X1 is not here on 9/18 - which I doubt that it will be??
Can't wait to get the X1! Was getting pretty concerned about when it would arrive until they told me re. the loaner.

My car has been at the port since 8/13 & I received this message from my dealer today.

Your car shipped yesterday and is on the "Integrity". They are obviously running behind because of all the vacations. The computer says it will arrive in this country about the 21st. Once it arrives in Baltimore it will take about 5 days to get to our dealership. Sounds like you will get your car about a week after you get back. You should be able to get it this month.

BTW - the BMW owners site still does not show it as shipped.

Lot's of German companies shut down in August so there is probably a back log of cars from every car manufacturer trying to get on a boat. Hopefully the backlog will clear up soon for you!

Yes. Check the schedule on the W&W website and you can see where it goes, and when, on the way to the US.

Thanks, I finally figured out how to see where the ship goes. And after a two day delay the BMW owners site does now show the car is on the way to the US.

I am in Italy currently on vacation and its unreal how many X1's I have seen over here. A lot of 1.8d's with 6 sp. manuals. We have a Fiat 500 rental car and nearly kept up with a Audi R8 on a downhill mt. road the other day for a while!

I ordered my X1 xDrive35i on 8/9, it went into production on 8/23 and was completed on 8/30. It arrived at Bremerhaven on 9/3. It left port on the Toronto on 9/8 and is scheduled to be delivered to Port Hueneme, CA on 10/2. I feel fortunate as I read posts by many of you about the length of time your vehicle awaits a ride home from Germany as I believe I got a quick turn at the port and the since the overall process looks like it will take just about 60 days is pretty quick.

As you can imagine, ^this^ pissed me off to no end! I was just about to call my dealer and chew them out.
But then I thought that I ought to check one more time, to make sure I'm right before I start yelling.
So I checked BMWUSA.com; no changes, still says "production ended".
Then I checked the W&W cargo tracker and guess what?

It's still not there!

Just kidding.
It's on the Toronto!
It should be in PH on 10/2.
For reference, I did check the W&W tracker last night (roughly 12 hours post-departure) and it still said "no records found".
But today it's there! Yay!

My X1 is on the Intergerty & was on its way, but now according to the site is has been sitting still since Sept. 9th in the Atlantic North. Wonder what that's all about - just not updated on site? Still saying the ETA in Baltimore is Sept. 19th.

That's the last position that was received by the AIS system, which is how the website track the ships. That has a limited range from shore (I think it relies on VHF transmission or something) so once the ship gets out of range of that, it shows it as sitting there, until it pops back up on the other side of the pond when it gets back into range of the system again. If you look at the info for the ship, it says it is "not currently in range."

However, it looks like Integrity can be tracked on the SailWx site, which shows it basically in the mid-atlantic. Search by call sign of the ship (which you can get from the Marine Traffic website under the ship info). Here's what should be a link to where it is right now from the SailWX site-

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...l?call=WDC6925

If you zoom out you also can see Gabrielle and Humberto noted on the map. Hoping Gabrielle is gone and seas are calmed by the time my boat needs to get through that area. Mine is on Columbia Highway, but it apparently isn't participating in the SailWx weather monitoring so I can't track it on that website. That boat is a couple of days ahead of yours, on basically the same track, from what I can tell.
