Cracked M50 oil pan

I have a 91 e34 with a m50 engine.. I unfortunatley recently bottomed out an cracked the front left corner of my oil pan an cannot hold any oil in the pan.. Any members with hook ups on the difficulty of changing the pan as i have never done it.. Not a complete newbie to mechanical repairs but a little hesitant on takin it on without an idea of what kind of problems i may run into while removing it.. Any leads to a replacement pan would be pretty sweet as well. Thx in advance..

Not too bad to do, possible with engine in the car, easier with it out of course.

Unfortunately the E34 M50 pans are becoming quite expencive because the E30 boys use them in their M5x conversions and sometimes break them because thier cars are so low lol

Hi.

Easy job but if done with engine in place but it requires some kind of device to lift the engine.

There are two bolts on the bellhousing and three more Torx there.

Cheers

Fernando

Cracked M50 oil pan

Finally got it done last weekend.. Probably took me 14 hours total without a lift.. I jacked engine up off the passenger engine mount an removed transmission mount an jacked it a bit from there an once the pan was free it slid right out from the front...If i ever have to do it again id probably get it done in half the time..which is highly unlikely.. Lol

worth getting your old pan fixed and strengthened, and put up on ebay imo
