Chestnut Leather Seats

I've seen many chestnut leather photos on the web, but few get the color right. So I took a series of photos of my 2014 BMW X3 chestnut leather seats on a sunny day. It's hard to get the color right, since it changes with lighting temperature. The chestnut color can go from brown (under cool light temperature such as shade or cloudy) to red and orange (under warm and direct light).

Here are the photos:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/9874564...7635342360643/

As I said, the color changes under different lighting conditions. So single photo does not represent the correct color of chestnut leather seats. But I believe the true color should fall in between these photos.

I had chestnut in my 335i and always used to describe it as "brick"

kind of reddish/orange but in a tasteful way - I think it looks great with silver or gray

Great Pics!

I have decided NOT to go with this color. There is something wrong about it. I'm not sure what. I don't think it's strong, loud or bold - because in my opinion it isn't. To me it doesn't look fresh and I'm afraid that with time it may get even darker and muddy. But again, it's a personal preference.

I think the chestnut and white leather are the best options for these cars. It makes the interior pop. If you don't have kids then the white leather looks amazing.
Great pics of the interior of the car! No one should have anymore questions of what the chestnut color should look like now.

I really dig chestnut. My ride went into production this week and I should have within two weeks!

Chestnut is awesome and those pics are great, very representative, it is a little more red than I thought based on other pics before I ordered it, but when I got it I really really like it. My X5 had Cinnamon and I thought it would be close to that, but definitely more red - cinnamon was hard to capture also as is the saddle in my 335i.

Agree with guyver626. Chestnut colour is bold and sporty. Oyster white is clean, cool and bright. It's just a personal choice. My wife wanted the Alpine white but pass the chestnut for oyster white leather. As it turns out, the X3 colour scheme is brilliant! No regrets at all.

I love the look of my Chestnut/Black Sapphire Metallic X3. When I ordered it, I was afraid I wouldn't like the color scheme, but I love the choice I made. I get compliments from strangers on it quite often.

Congratulations. Enjoy your car! I can't wait to do the same. Unfortunately I have to wait another month.
