Best places to get repairs around NYC?

Would love any recommendations. I guess this also presumes it's even a good idea to go somewhere else other than a bmw service center.

Thanks both OP and bigscore. While I'm not in need of anything at the moment and tend to get the BMW serviced out on Long Island, these two recommendations are helpful to have in the file!

George (m5 deamon) over on m5board is highly regarded. Very good at diagnostics on the E39m5. just opened a shop.

I would have not reservations bringing my car to him.
Keep it as simple as possible...but no simpler.
