Leatherette isn't as durable as I thought.

I noticed this at around 19K miles.

That stinks. Sorry to learn about your troubles. Have u used anything on the seats before? Cleaners? conditioners?
Speak to your dealer and see if they can place a warranty claim.

Wow, had leatherette on my mini for 4 years and now have it on my 2013 x3. Always love it, didn't know it would ever happen...
Dd you have additional insurance when you purchase the car? If yes, they might cover it... Good luck!

I have not used anything strong, only brand name car interior cleaners.

edbiology - what a disappointing experience! My e46 had 134,000 miles and the leatherette looked nearly as new. I have got to believe that you have a defect that will be covered under warranty.

No problem with my seats at after 27K kms and 16 months. I'll have to keep an eye out for this wear.

I don't mean to be rude but are you a bigger dude? I have "big bones" and found the deeper seat bolsters on my sport seats take some abuse because of my proportions, i.e. I don't need to inflate the air bladder in the bolsters.

I am 180cm/5'11" and weigh about 90Kg/200lbs, not light but not very heavy either.

Being 18 stone and about the same height I'd would refer to you as svelte.

You'll have to let us know what the stealership says about the seats.
