Got the new tires

Got the car back from the dealer yesterday with the new Michelin A/S 3. Car rides really smooth now and real quiet. I got a slime inflator kit from Amazon in case I get a flat or leak.

I recommend these tires. Thanks to all who helped me make this choice.

FWIW, Slime may clog the TPMS, should you ever need to use it, and then add the cost of a new one to the price of the repair. Tire shops may also charge extra to clean up the mess inside as well.

It was recommended by the BMW tech. I can see it causing problems with the TPMS. I have found that most of the time its a leak due to a nail or something like that. In that case I can just inflate the tire to get me home or to the repair shop. At least that's my theory. Worst case is that its towed to the dealer and fixed. I have Good Sam and they will tow it to the nearest dealer. I don't think the tow would be covered under warranty.

If the hole is big enough (rare), the only help is to change the tire which would likely require a tow. And, I think you're right, the BMW service would pay for a mechanical fault (say engine) but not a tire related one, since you should still be able to drive with the stock tires.
