I agree it is not a big deal to install a Curt hitch. I went with the aftermarket harness and it didn't work although stated it would. To do again I would go with the factory harness and not go through the headache of the aftermarket part.

the factory one clicked in to the harness came with the grommet, then has the module that plugs in right in front of the batter
Although i did not install that..
It was so hot yesterday.. and we had contractors at work so i was out side All day long.. I was just so kicked.. I just wanted to get it on and then take a shower..
only thing is that the curt doesnt have the holder for the big plug.. So ill end up making something and welding it on to the hitch to hold the connecter..

looks tacky with the zip tie

I Fabricated this bracket .. Here it's not painted but I will weld this on to the curt hitch to make it able to hold the oem harness ..

There was a 80$ difference for this bracket between the BMW brand hitch and the curt hitch

All done

electrical done.. bracket welded on
all mounted

but the cover in half then trimed to fit... the left side needs a little more cutting to cover the connector
