Question Bra or Protection Film?????

I live in Florida and the Love Bugs are terrible.
Has anyone used the 3M vehicle protection film? Which is better the bra or film?

Thank you for all your help,
Dee

old school bra is f'ing ugly, not as bad on a black car. It can also abrade the paint. Clear bra film is great but bugs still stick to it and it's pretty expensive. 3m does make a DIY spray on clear film that's pretty cheap and peels off then it starts to look bad. I'd go with the spray on for $25.

I would go with the film. The bras move around and damage your paint even worse than the bugs !

Clear bra is best way and should be professionally installed unless you have had experience with film.

Bras do as much damage to the nose as not having one. They rub and will wear the paint after time.

Regards.

On my Scion I got a vinyl bra, which was very inconvenient after awhile so I eBayed all but the hood piece. Then I looked at 3M sheet film (clear bra). The clear bra was very expensive for a professional installation, so I got a kit and tried to apply it. It was too hard so I did not get much of it on and sold the unused sections on eBay.

If I needed bug protection for any car now, like for a vacation trip, I would use the 3M Paint Defender spray film:

Love bugs are a nuisance but can be washed off fairly easily (hint: leave the area wet for about 30 minutes).

I'd be more worried about those little critters clogging up your A/C condenser. Back in the day, they used to sell screens that would cover the whole front of your car - including the air intake(s). They were crude, but effective and would have the same rubbing issues a bra would have except they were intended for temporary use only.

You could try PlastiDip clear. Once the bug season is over, you can peel it. Pretty inexpensive.

Just mask around the area and spray; if you are not happy, peel it off and do it again.
