DHP and Harman Kardon

Dropped the car off today to check on a rattle in the door which was taken care of. They gave me a base line 328 and i drove it for about a half hour. What i want to let people know is if you can afford it and you want extra enjoyment from the car then dont skip those two options. I have both HK and DHP and just rolling around the streets in a base line with 17s the ride was believe it or not harsher than my car with 18s. Im assuming it has to do with the DHP soaking up any bumps in the road. I noticed a huge difference. As for HK the loaner did have a usb port for my old school ipod, so i plugged it in and the sound sucked. I dont know if its an ok system overall but i do know after having HK for a few months it doesnt come close. These upgrades change the overall driving experience IMHO.

I come from E60 Logic 7 and I found standard sound system on F30 is fine.

I agree. Had a loaner without the HK a few weeks back and it was noticeable. Certainly I will not claim that the base sound is poor, but the HK is much better. I really enjoy windows down/roof open driving, and the added bass and clarity is wonderful. The windows up cruise with bassy beats or intricate classical is a beautiful experience.
