Wow, first night it felt like fall. Sun was low and there was a chill in when leaving work. Where the heck did summer go?

Actually, for some reason I don't think the 17" steelies look half bad. I think steelies aren't terribly heavy, perhaps not as light as a good set of aftermarket wheels, but they could easily be lighter than a set of OEM M3 wheels. They do lack the ability to dissipate heat compared to aluminum alloys, however, both due to their design as well as the differences between steel and aluminum.

Not having much luck finding financing for the 850i. The MSU credit union quoted me 9% for 36 months or 10% for 48 months, and my credit definitely isn't that bad. The credit union I bank through right now won't even touch it. Looks like I may be stickied in the E36 subforum for quite some time.

Good grief, 9-10% is crazy.

Interesting. So if it actually does weigh 3,306lbs, that's about 100lbs lighter than an E46 M3, and nearly 300lbs less than the current M3. The additional 74lb-ft of torque over the E9x M3 should help quite a bit, too. I think many (myself included) will miss natural aspiration and a stratospheric redline, though.

I'm sure they mean the 2014 NAIAS, not 2013. Can't wait.

I put it in gear and wigled the output flange and it won't turn, so I assume the input shaft has engaged the clutch disk splines, but it won't go any further forward.

It might not be level with the engine. Is the engine jacked up at the front slightly?

Also, anyone having trouble with the iOS6 keyboard in BimmerApp with iOS7?

Chip, did you ensure that the pilot bearing ID matches up to the input shaft OD? (Easy to check using the clutch alignment tool)

I've found that those clutch kits sometimes send two different size pilot bearings. So it's possible that you got a wrong one or something.

This. My clutch kit came with 2 sizes of pilot bearings. I, however, replaced them with OEM units. I am not dropping the tranny because an aftermarket bearing or seal failed

Picked up a MTECH 318ti with 140k or something, 5 speed, LSD, runs and drives but it's needs a bunch of little things. How much do you think it's worth in decent condition? I only have it to flip it.

I used the right one (actually got a new one from Advance rather than use the eBay one), but I think this was still the issue, the input shaft had some rust on it that had meant to sand off, but in my excitement forgot

And when I pulled the tranny back to get into the bell housing it slipped off the jack and mashed my pinky finger so I rage quit for the night and baked cookies.
