Glad your recovery is progressing and that you'll be able to make LRP. Hope to catch up with you this weekend!
I'll be getting in late Thursday night, staying at Iron Masters place. I'll drop you a line when I get to the track Friday.

I went with my future brother-in-law and his son. The BMW CCA did a nice hospitality job for its members - cheap tickets, infield parking, free food and beer...and free flags to wave like kids!

I'll post pictures sometime soon!

You missed a great race and a beautiful day. A good day to show the new race series what they are missing - I cannot believe they dropped LRP!

I hope you feel better soon!

Hmmm, I went there on Friday, where did they give out free flags?
I got a free hat from Continental Tires and a picture with semi-naked ladies that's about it.

They had them in the BMW CCA hospitality tent on the way to the free food or one free beer on Saturday.

I just got word that my mother passed away a few minutes ago. She had been in hospice care in Port St. Lucie, Florida for the past few days but I am told that she was not suffering and that she went peacefully. She had a good run and was a few weeks from her 99th birthday. The last time I saw her was last December. She had deteriorated a bit and was showing signs of dementia but she was in surprisingly good health and seemed very content.

Bye Mom.

CA, my condolences on your mother passing. Mine left this Earth back in 2003. 99 years is a pretty good run.

Thank you all for your kind words.

My mother was born December 12, 1914. Woodrow Wilson was president, the Model T Ford was 4 years into its model run and the Wright Brothers first flight had taken place 9 years earlier. Her parents were Sicilian Immigrants (ironic that she died on Columbus Day) who had settled in Rochester, NY which is where I was born and raised.

She was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where she trained to be a chef. She and my father (who passed away in 1994) were married in 1941 a few weeks before Pearl Harbor. My father was a graduate of The University of Rochester and was a CPA.

My parents retired to Florida in the early 1970s and had a home in Miami. After my father died my mother and her two sisters bought homes in a gated community in Port St. Lucie Florida. She was in very good health until the very end and was very proud of her independence but had been in hospice care for the last few weeks.

Chuck, so sorry about this and sorry about your mom - it was a year ago this month we were sitting at the American Pie having coffee and bagels, talking about your mom's condition and waiting to head over the Bob Sharp's fund raiser.

Sometimes life just keeps hurling hardballs at ya ... hang in there.

Let's get the boys together and meet at Kent for coffee and an impromptu run.

Thanks,

I'm still home and so far so good.
Heading to Lime Rock Friday for the Drivers Club Spec Miata races.

The cancelled 2013 Fall Foliage Run will become the 2014 Spring has Sprung Run - Details to follow.

Climb to the Clouds Six will be June 20-23rd and will be a 4 day event last year with the drive up the mountain held on Saturday as usual. We once again have a block of rooms reserved at the Omni Mount Washington Resort.
The thread should be up in a few days.

Some of you may have received this email from AMP but I will post it here for those who did not.

AMP is on a serious roll and we need everyone's help.

Please "Like" us on Facebook and encourage your friends to do the same. As we are applying for grants and asking Governor Malloy and the bond commission for major dollars to get the mill roof installed, we need to 'AMP up' the number that represents people who care about the mural and want to see it happen.

This can be a very powerful way to do it. Please log in to Facebook, click here, and "Like" us.
