1997 BMW M3 COUP 40,000 Miles

Hello oh knowledgeable ones,

I am the ORIGINAL owner of a 1997 BMW M3, silver with black leather interior. It has only 40,000 miles on it. It is in excellent operating condition and cosmetic condition. A couple of years ago, someone hit me doing an illegal U-turn. My M3's handling helped me avoid the bulk of the collision, but they did scrape across my passenger door, which was professionally restored and looks brand new. I was told it may show up on a car fax report and that I should save pictures of the incident to show potential buyers the relatively minor damage since they may otherwise assume the worst.

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what this car would be worth. Whenever I bring it in for service or park in a garage, I invariably get "how much do you want for this car?!"

Except for parts repairs over the years, everything is ORIGINAL in this car. I probably have the original dealer window sticker somewhere. I definitely have the original book with all cards and information provided. As far as options, it has a CD changer in the trunk and a "trip computer" but the regular sound system, not the Harmon Kardon option that was offered at the time (believe me, if I knew how long I would be owning this beauty, I would have sprung for the Harmon Kardon!!!)

Any advice would be appreciated!

Harmon Kardon speakers stink

They were shot in my 99 M3 convertible when I bought the car four years ago.

Just judging by what you are saying I've seen 150k m3's going for 9-12k so if like to you have a 16-20k just judging without driving or seeing the car and it also depends on the buyer and whatnot
