Interior melting in my 2010 X6

So my car is 3years old but since the first year , the passenger door rubber handle started
Melting and sticking onto people's hands when they try to close the door it is really annoying . When I took it to the dealer they refused to take responsibility for the damage and blamed it on the heat and sweaty hands :-/ . So I asked to how much it would cost to fix myself and the price was about $2000 which is absurd . Any place I could order online would be GreT. Also I would love to know the part name so it's easier to search it
Thanks !

That looks like acid reaction; one time I was eating an orange then grab a TV remote control, yes the plastic melt to my surprise. Maybe one of your passenger was eating orange or acidic food then touch the door handle. Cause I 've never seen BMW plastic melt even in summer day.

Go to another dealer. It's absurd they won't replace this. Unless you're spilled some solvent on it and that's something only you would know. Another question is if you've been living with this for 2 years, why did you wait so long to complain? I'd try another store and wouldn't take no for an answer.
