Is it true that if I don't get the Premium Package, I would not have keyless entry???????

Not sure that's true.

You need Premium for Comfort access but I think keyless entry is a standard feature. In the fact that you don't have a key to insert in a lock, you press a button the fob.

Comfort access (in the premium package) allows you to keep the fob in the pocket and just touch the door handle (front doors only).

Wow, if that's the case, then I really don't need the premium package. The dealer told me that if I don't get it, I would need to physically insert the key into the door to unlock/lock.

Seeing that today's the last day for the loyalty rebate, if I put down $1000 to lock the rate and order the vehicle, if I change my mind tomorrow, will the dealership refund my deposit? What is the policy on this from BMW?

According to the standard features on the BMW web page it states "Vehicle & Key Memory" is standard. I find it hard to believe that this would not include a keyless unlock. I also had a very base model 328i loaner with no options added and this had a keyless remote.

Yes, you are correct. What my wife calls it. Keyless entry. . Really fob- less entry.

That makes sense then. I can shave off some $$s by not getting the premium pack. Will add the moonroof and leather separately. My other question is I'm putting $3k down, but my out the door payment is over $5100. Is that normal?

Hmmm. Doc and prep fee. Could be $6-$700. Registration. Maybe tax?

Look, even my 12 year old 325i doesn't need that!

I think it is refundable but could depend on the state. At least my understanding always was that you put down a deposit to show you are serious, but you can change your mind.

With the new promo this month, I was able to lower my monthly lease payment to $468. Pretty good deal now?

To me that sounds good as when I sell my wifes 3-6 years from now I have calculated that hers will cost us within 10% of your lease.

Your in CA, so I would definitely contact one of the forum sponsors, Jon at Santa Barbara or Greg Poland at Pacific BMW for quotes, mentioning Bimmerfest of course!

I contacted Jon and he matched the offer I received so I'm going to go with him, since you guys recommended him. It's going to be a 5-hour drive for me when the vehicle arrives.

Great! Now, as to the price, you made the best deal that you could, and you're happy with it. No second-guessing yourself allowed from now on. Be happy, and tingle with anticipation while awaiting delivery.

As to that 5-hour ride home, I have two words for you. Oh, yeah!

330gal -- if Jon won't spring for lunch at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito try the Beachside Café on Sandspit Road between UCSB and the Airport -- great place and nice SoCal "scene". Close to Jon's store too.

Otherwise known as spending quality time bonding with your new ride Don't forget to bring some tunes.

I took my X3 out to the local BMW chapter High Performance Driving School at Pueblo Motorsports Park two weeks ago for a little one-on-one counseling. Our relationship is much improved.
