2014 BMW X3 28i with Bi-Xenon Light Package upgraded LED taillights?

Good Morning Enthusiast!

I just ordered a 2014 x3 with the lighting package and wondered if I would be getting the standard tail lights or are they upgraded to the LED taillights? When you add the light package there is no mention of the LED taillights just the adaptive headlights.

Thanks

Thanks. So I am assuming the UK 28i with lighting package pictured here http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=766565
Is just a difference in the US vs UK model.

Maybe someone with a 28i in the U.S can better answer that question. I have a 35i and just remember reading about all the fuss from those with the 28i not have the full LED tail lights.

My 2014 X3 28i with Xenon lighting package has LED taillights. 35i always has LED taillights because Xenon lighting package is standard on 35i, but optional on 28i.

So indeed I will get the LED tail lights. Thanks mercurychen. I actually contacted BMW directly and they said it would not, but I was hoping and figures that they have bad information. Thanks again for the information.

That's right, they don't always have the correct info. To give you a peace of mind, I will post a picture of mine tonight.

Another mystery solved, good work MC. Sometime I wish BMW would not give out false information, if they don't know the answer, just say so.

It may not be all BMW's fault on the LED tails. While it is true that the parking light part of the tails are LED, brake lights and turn signals are still traditional incandescent bulbs, that may have been what BMW was thinking about when they said they weren't LED.

Thanks Drewsky maybe you are right, but both models (28i and 35i) have the incandescent brake and turn signals right?

Yes from what I've seen, brake/ts are always bulbs on F25. I'm currently shopping around for LED bulb modules to replace the incandescents but haven't found a suitable one yet.

Correct, I should have been more specific, only the tail light portion is LED, brake and turn signal are old fashioned bulbs!
