Battery failure question

My friend has an '11 clubman. He puts very few miles on it. On August 18th he drove from center city Philadelphia to King of Prussia with no issues, and then back again. The car started right up. On the way back, he stopped to run an errand and when he went to start the car it would not turn over. Obviously, it was the battery. After getting a jump, he brought the car in to Mini of the Main Line and was told he left the turn signal engaged after the car was off which killed the battery and it would not have a charge. Although he was told when He leased the vehicle everything was covered under warranty but the tires, he was told this alleged mistake on my part rendered the limited warranty invalid and that I would have to pay for the new battery and labor. He asked for a copy of the warranty and they wouldn't give it up.

What's the deal here, kids? Who should he call to bitch out. They soaked him $500 for a battery and he isn't a car guy so he didn't know better.
