m3 advice (please read)

Hi I work for a dealership and recently a 2004 m3 with 112k miles came in as a trade-in. I was interested in it right away. I spoke with management and he said after they have it looked at and inspected he would give me the report and we can take it from there. Today he called me in and told me what was found. He stated car was good to pass nys inspection and is safe to drive but a few things were found.

***Rear differential leak, slight transmission leak, and possible power steering leak. Purchasing vehicle "as-is" but before I went through with it I wanted to get some professional input. Im looking for advice or to hear what anyone has to say about this car. Please tell me what you think!( mileage wise, problem wise, anything) Thank you!!

I had a PPI done on my 2004 one owner (79,000) and had similar results. Apparently the power steering hoses are notorious for leaking, had them replaced. Opted to upgrade the diff with a Dinan 3.91, highly recommend. My car is SMG I assume you are talking about a manual trans. If the price is right and all of the normal problem areas are OK, RTABs, FTABS, bushings, upper shock mounts etc. all check out , go for it!

I'm from the 7 series thread, But I can assure you, IF A CAR HAS 3 MAJOR LEAKS, DO NOT BUY IT. who knows how long the leaks have been going on for, what things have been damadged for lack of fluid, leaking, and drainage, I had a coolant oil and steering leak and cost me about 4k all together to fix. This is an m. High performance car.
