It's not possible that my blackberry is better integrated than the iPhone, is it? I can't seem to pull messages in with my new iPhone. I may have to revert! Help!

CIC nav? The messages portion is really hacky to get working but does work in iOS 7. It involves changing the number of messages appearing on your lock screen every time you get into the car and start it.

Blackberry has a fully implemented Bluetooth MAP implementation, which is what the iDrive uses to receive messages. Apple is mostly there, but still has some weird bugs -- or arguably, maybe the iDrive implementation is incomplete and doesn't handle the iPhones properly.

Either way, the solution is to go into Settings > Notifications, and make sure your phone is set to display messages on the lock screen. After that, toggling both email and text messages from 5 messages to 10 messages and back to 5 after you've started the car and the phone is paired up will start the messages flowing to your iDrive.

You will need to do this EVERY time you start your car. Yeah, I know.
