ideas on fixing tearing door trim rubber

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? As you can see I tried using Sugru but after a while it came loose.

Rather not replace this entire strip since it's only about two inches that have torn away.

Super weatherstip adhesive?? If I was me though I'd replace it. It's part # 51210402745. It's around between $50-60 depending where you look online. I know it's pricey, but hey it least if you replace it you won't have to worry about it again for a long time.

until you get new trim don't be embarrassed to put some silicone (dark color?) in it and some dark tape) it will hold a long while and no one will see it unless they have their nose in it.. IMHO

Thanks all. I did try duct tape. It also came off. Maybe I will just buy the part. Thanks for the part number!

Hard to tell from your pic exactly what part you need. Better check that p/n, it doesn't look like your pic to me.

Just a thought - sort of a shot in the dark.

If you could find someone with access to a "make your own size" O-ring kit you will find these kits come with a primer and adhesive that can make a durable joint. It might work for your torn strip, assuming the trim strip and O-ring rubber are similar enough. Or try an industrial supply house for primer and adhesive alone for a price check.

You might have to remove the strip for full access to the tear's edges in order to get a good tight fit.
