Angel Eye, E63 LCI, please help!!

Sorry for begging. I am starting to get annoyed with a lighting vendor (a bimmerfest sponsor) and I was hoping for a second opinion, before I call them out.

Has ANYONE been able to fit this style of bulb on a 2008 E63 LCI? In my case the passenger side goes in no problem, but the driver's side will not work. The cooling fan contacts the headlight casing and prevents me from lining up the tabs to insert the bulb.

This is not the first bulb the vendor/sponsor sent me. The last one gave errors. This one doesn't but it won't fit. I have to pay shipping for each return

Here's the bulb:

Mine is pre-LCI but they are a bitch to get in correctly. I have pulled the bumper cover to get good access. It's not difficult and I bet it would help. You'll at least know if the problem is you or them. Good luck!

Thanks. But I got some light in there to get a closer look. Its a no go.

The fan end must be at the 12 o'clock position to start the twist/lock. The fan is a good 1/8th inch too tall preventing it from getting into that position.

Looking at the assembly, can you take the fan off, install the light and then reattach the fan?

I believe that the 2009 is similar to the earlier cars as far as the bulb being mounted on the outside of the housing with the LED inside and the rear of the LED exposed. I can tell you from personal experience that this area is exposed to the elements and will get WET. Mounting any device that has active components like the fan will give you nothing but grief.

If it isn't totally sealed and weatherproof, don't do it!

Please see this thread. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...143&highlight=

you will most likely get some other LEDs , I had trouble getting mine to turn into the locked position. I ended up using a small file and took the edge off the three locking pins, after that it was very easy to get the LEDs into the locked position.

Got mine from Amazon. iJDMTOY 7k, 5Watt

Pretty pleased with them for the price. Seems like the price went I up, I only paid $35+free shipping, but had them in like 3 days, easy plug & play, no errors.

They are not the brightest out there, but decent results, they look sexy. Really, anything is better than the stock dim yellow.

my fault. OP wants 2008+, my AE's are pre LCI.
