2014 X1 Sirius XM install

I just took delivery of a 2014 X1 2.8. It's very basic with just heated and power seats as the only options but that is all I wanted. Perfect car for me. However, I was hoping to have the BMW Sirius XM installed in it. Question...what do I have to do? The dealer was wiling to install the code for me as part of the deal. However, they are saying that my car isn't equipped with the necessary hardware for them to do that. I am confused.
Thanks for any information.

PS..I know I can just plug my XM unit or phone into the AUX, but I am tired of plugging in aux cables and power cords and antenna cable.

The X1's electronics are like the E9x, and there is a different set of electronics if there is nav/idrive or the HK stereo rather than the base system which you have. The details don't matter too much, but it's prohibitively expensive and hard to do dealer-installed (or aftermarket) add-ons (including Bluetooth and Sirius/XM) to cars like yours.

Try checking the Audio forum on E90post.com if you want a better answer. It can be done, but...

It is a port installed option, but the dealer should be able to do it as well. it isn't done at the factory.
