2014 X1 Service and Warranty Manual

Just took delivery of 2014 X1 sDrive. Dealer gave me 2013 Active Hybrid service and warranty manual with my vehicle. I mentioned to him it is not for X1,he said it is what came with vehicle. Searching online I could locate 2013 X1 Service and Warranty Manual from BMW website but not for 2014 X1. Would like to know what other 2014 X1 owners have got with their delivery. I am talking about Service and Warranty Manual and not Owners operating manual.

I didn't get anything labeled "service and warranty MANUAL" with mine. I got a "service and warranty information" booklet, specific to the 2014 X1.

thank you FLX1

Thank you for quick response comments. Yes I meant to write as service and warranty information, not manual. Thanks for correcting me. I guess I will follow up with my dealer.

Here is a (relatively poor) snapshot of what mine looks like. The 2014 X1 designation is in the white box in the upper right corner, but it may not be readable in this picture. The card with the bar codes beneath it was in the shrink wrap with the booklet, in case the info on that is of any use to anyone.

If you scroll through items when checking your oil electronically, you'll see several different dates for service with symbols like smog, brakes, on rack, etc.

The first thing you might get is a letter in mail recalling for fix in the cam area to keep vacuum pump from failing.

My 2014 X1 s28i has a 08/2014 for something and a 05/2014 for probably oil change at 2 year mark.

I've just changed my motor oil and differential oil to Mobil 1 0w40 and 75w90 with a lab report coming for the factory fill BMW motor oil.

The oil and filter had no visible particles, but I just wanted to test what BMW uses.

I don't mind going 2 years on oil change, but I won't go past 10k miles until I see some lab reports, especially on a hot running turbo car.

BMW really keeps the magic close so you have to go see them, but I'd just as soon do my own inexpensive Mobil 1 oil change if they'll adjust valves, etc.

One thing you better watch is the battery.

I went on 1600 mile road trip as soon as I got car back from Euro delivery, and it took most of that trip to get the battery charged as shown on my ScanGauge volt meter while I drive.

Now going around town every 2 days for 10 miles the battery hangs in that 12.35 volt area just before I start the car.

Anything lower than that voltage can ruin the battery if it sits at that, and as it charges while driving the mpg suffers.

I don't know how the X1 works in cold weather with heated seats, steering, lights etc.

That gave me an idea to turn off my daytime running lights on bright days while I'm trying to get battery up.

You won't like the price of new battery!

You guys that have a garage with electricity need the Deltran battery minder, and you'll pay for it even with better mpg.

Thanks for reminding us some simple thoughts like turning of day time light and recharging battery at home to improve MPG.

i am taking my '13 X135 in for first oil service at 7800 miles on nov1 it will be a year. if you drive low milage you can get your cars oil changed yearly. I also spoke to my service advisor and he confirmed all BMW will be moving to the 12,000mile interval and the x1 qualifies for the move to 12k. Now everyone should be able to get 4 oil changes under warranty.
