X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

Mein Auto: 2014 X6 35i
Interior lights stay illuminated, even when vehicle is off and locked.

Hi everyone! We just picked up our 2014 X6 35i on Tuesday. There are so many bells and whistles on this car, I'm overwhelmed! And I have an issue that even my dealer wasn't aware of and they don't have any other X6s on their lot, so they are stumped.

Here's my issue:

When the vehicle is turned off and locked, the lights on the steering wheel, the CD player and the parking brake light near the gear shift, stay illuminated a soft red. It's not as dark as if the car were being driven at night. Soft, like a night light.

I'm afraid that will kill our battery. I have an appt. to take it in for service. I was told they will converse with the German technical support because they have no idea what could be going on.

Our keys are no where near the car when it's off, so it's not sensing us coming up to the vehicle.

If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it!
