Right Mirror, angling down on reverse

I'm hoping this is an option that I can edit somehow, but after going through all the settings on the iDrive, I can't figure it out.

Anytime I go in reverse, the right mirror angles down. How can I edit that setting?

The dipping of the mirror is controlled by the mirror control selector switch on the driver's door armrest. I don't recall which is which, but when set to one mirror the passenger-side mirror dips when you shift to reverse, and when set to the other mirror the passenger-side mirror does not dip.

Slide the switch to the right to disable this feature.

Yep. That's how it works in our X1.
It's based on the mirror adjustment switch.
Switch to the left- passenger mirror rotates down when in reverse to show the curb view
Switch to the right- both mirrors stay in their current position when reversing.

I can't believe that people don't like this feature! I couldn't do without my mirror angling down after having it.

It's a must have for parallel parking (which I do) and very handy for backing into a parking space- nice view of the line. For cars without it, I end up having to do it manually via the mirror adjustment switch.

Agree it is useful. Wished mine came with top-view cameras though...makes parking no-brainer
