Longevity of BMW Diesel engines in X5

Anyone able to hint at the miles/kilometers I can expect from an E53 before major expenses - owned since new - manual gearbox - maintained by dealership/s strictly in accord with "service interval indicator". Seems to be going like a sewing machine but am wondering if it is time to swap for something newer. I really do not want to - love my manual gearbox and a "real" spare tire.

Probably won't get many replies on this forum since it tends to be dominated by most North Americans...we didn't get any diesel e53 X5s.

We must have been the lucky ones here in Australia

I have recently purchased an auto diesel, my mechanic told me it would last forever, I hope he's right.

I can't help you with your question but if I was you I would hold onto the car as long as I could especially as you have owned it since new and it is running well. I haven't come across one with a manual gearbox and would have probably bought a manual as this is the first auto car I have owned.

Keep it, unfortunately they have depreciated greatly (lucky for me a buyer) and you would not get what it is really worth.
