The F01/F02 bores me a bit...

I'll be done paying on my 750 in April, so I went out and test drove the new 7 series. The performance was GREAT. The interior is slightly better. The gadgets are much better. (NAV, Cameras, Ergonomics) Also note that the interior is smaller and not as comfy as our Sevens...

But once I get out of the car and look at it...I suddenly become bored with it. The rear looks just like a Lexus, in fact my girlfriend thought it was a Lexus when we pulled up at the dealership.

That car kinda has the blah....or meh.. effect.

Now I know that a lot of owners of a previous body style tend to knock the latest and greatest
model, but I tend to like the latest and greatest. I think BMW did an EXCELLENT Job with the new 5 series but ran out of ideas with the new 7...

Am I alone?

I totally agree with you on this the new styling of BMW is totally strange from my point of view. The 5 series does look really sweet but the I cant tell what they were doing the 7 series they look too funny and i cant take them seriously . Yes the interior is a little better but just cause of the gadgets but i think they messed up horribly on the outside...rather get the new s class.

Finally someone echoes my words. Last yr I posted many times how the rear of the new 7s were near identical, almost stolen, of the lexus ls. Seriously wtf.

I love how the e65/66 looks far more than the new 7s. Very sexy cars. kinda forced me to start looking into the S class. But if things continue to go as planned Perhaps even the new sl. Eitherway, it's a big fat no to the F01 for me.

Why am I the only one that loves the F01? The front is so much nicer then our cars with the HUGE vents or nostrils as I like to call them. Also the fit and finish of the body panels. I love having the shifter back instead of the stalk shifter we have. I drove one recently and the power was amazing....felt alot like my 07 Charger SRT8 I used to have power wise. The over all shape of the car is a very natural evolution from our car, as the over all shape is very similar via a side view so I dont understand how someone who owns our car doesnt like it. Anyway thats my 2 cents.

I agree that the front is an improvement..I like the huge vents. And the initial engines were underrated. BMW claimed 400hp but the motor dynoed at 391hp and 434 lb-ft of torque.

Then means that the engine is making ATLEAST 450hp...and 475lb-ft of torque.

But it is a Lexus LOL

I love the new F01 7 series. Some may not agree, but I was actually thinking on getting that but my money was a bit short so I went with the 08. I love the front and back. I love the dual exhaust compare to the single one we have on the left of our car.
I think Lexus actually stole the look from BMW (I know its wrong since the lexus body came out in 2007). But they always try to copy the Germans...lool
