Code Challenge

Ok, I have a code challenge for all those coders out there. The 2013 BMW 750Li's came with a LED headlight option. One of the trick things these do can be found in this youtube video:

Unfortunately because of DOT regulations, this feature has been disabled on all US cars (gotta love our government).

So anyone out there want to take a stab at getting it turned on. It is my understanding that as long as you have the LED headlights, all of the components (including automatic headlights) are existing.

Thanks

This has been discussed before. I don't think it is a coding issue, there are parts in the headlights that our cars do not have here in the states that enable this feature to work.

Check out this thread....

It looks like US cars would need extra hardware in the lights (some sort of shutter) to work this function properly... Boooooo

I'm interested as well. I went from an '09 with non-LEDs but with auto-dimming to a '14 with LEDs but no auto-dimming. I asked my dealer if they could put something in and he said no.

I thought auto dimming came with the LED package? You don't have a button on the left stalk for the auto-bright dimmer?

Do you have the full LED or are you just referencing the LED surrounds (angel eyes) that are new on the 13s and up? Full LED is only sold as a package with auto-dimming as far as I know.

Hey Guys... I am referencing the trick high beam function on the 2013+ full LED lights, where the high beams will actually split and follow cars... There is debate out there that the part numbers are different.... however, my BMW guys cannot find different part numbers

If it means anything, the specs on the 2014 M5 I am looking at with the Lighting Package (ZLP) also include the following no-cost item - "Decoding for no-dazzlw hgh bm", (5AP).
