I use a common permanent marker and not a specific one.
Besides that, i live in Greece and i don't think you will find the same.
Thank you!
O.K., I will try to find a red permanent marker. Thanks for this idea!
Keep up the good work!

Do they all have it or was it a specific option on that 540? Last one I saw had a vinyl console like mine!

I'm definitely going to recover the pillars after seeing how awesome they look on your car. Any particular thickness of material work best? I didn't see it in the thread, what did you do with the plastic pieces (seat belt sliders, oh s**t handles, etc) since they're gray?

How did you remove the carpet up front? Did you cut it under the console or could you sneak it out once the console and dash pieces were removed?

No it's an ordinary gray console and it was covered with black leather, just like the rest of the interior.
As for the material thickness, if it is alcantara just like mine go for 1mm. For leather do not exceed 1,5mm of thickness

For the gray seat belt sliders now, first i paint them (apply plastic primer first) but then i thought to make it right and order them black from my BMW distributor.

For the front carpet i am not so proud..... Yes i cut it near the heater housing. Otherwise i have to remove the dash the air ducts and the heater housing.....
But the cut is under the console and it doesn't show's

That's what I thought. Eventually I'm going to have to do the same; I've cleaned the carpets over and over but the previous owner spilled more than she drank I think... I got a spare console and I laid in bed last night thinking how to recover it. I'm not sure what to use, alcantara is too expensive. I didn't know those plastic parts were made in black, I think I'll have to give that a looksie.

They were made in black, but VERY limited in the US. I think only some M5's had them.

This is a most epic build, my friend!!! I am seriously in love with the E34 and shopping for the best project car I can find within the next couple weeks, preferably with a 5spd and Blue over Dove Gray or Tan interior here in FL, USA.

I was thinking to follow a similar route to your build, either going the Alpina B10 BiTurbo clone route or an M5 clone. What type of drive train did you end up going with and also what type of suspension upgrades have you done or are planning to do? Let's see a video if possible. Thanks, Mark

OP hasn't posted in almost 4 years. I doubt you'll get a response from him.

Hmmmmm..... Good point, although I would say I still get updates from threads I've subscribed to years later. I wonder if this guy still has the car. I would hope so considering how much work went into it.

Are there any other such rebuild thread for nice E34s on here?

Ok this is really really weird....
I haven't sign in for 4 years now and suddenly i see a picture of my project car on google images...

WT#?

Yes mrkanda i still have the car, but just before i complete it, the Greek government gone crazy. They think i am a millionaire because i have a 2000cc car and ask me taxes even beyond your wildest dreams.

This sucks cause i can't drive my car for 4 years now... What a shame....

P.S. I always looking for a V12 with manual transmission...

What!? You can't register it as a regular 520i?

You want a V12 6spd swap from an 850i? Try the US or Sweden. They do some crazy swaps over there.

I can register it as a regular 520i. But i also must pay the taxes of an M5 3.8 for just 2000cc....
Don't even bother. It is a really fu##ed up situation.....

Yes the 850i is the proper donor car....

Sounds like you need to edumacate those government types! I guess they try to get the same taxes for all cars sharing the same chassis no matter what drivetrain it has. Start a petition! Don't you get a break because how old it is?
