tire pressure to prevent flat spotting?

I was wondering if anyone had tried over inflating the tires for winter storage to prevent or reduce flat spotting from sitting? Any input pro or con would be appreciated.

When my coupe hibernated, I'd inflate the tires to the max pressure from the sidewall. I'd also put a slab of wood under each tire to insulate it from the concrete floor. No con's noticed. I did notice that when parked outside overnight with temps in the 20's, my track tires would flat spot overnight. But they'd round out driving the 5 miles to the track. The first time it scared the crap out of me. thump thump thumping down the road.

The owner's manual does say to inflate the tires to 51 PSI and remove the battery for storage over three months. I think I'm going to take the advice I got and get a trickle charger.
