Depends on how "connected" you want to be?

I like this option and already making enquiries if they can ship Internationally.

Used this decoder about a year ago and it worked fine. Now the site requires me to register - I follow the instructions but don't seem able to registered. Any clues?

Same here. I give it a nickname and email as requested, but it keeps saying to register. It worked a year ago without a registration.
This decoder does work...

I later found that my registration with the Russian site did work, to the extent that today I got an email to click on a link to verify the registration. I did that, was taken to the site, and was able to put in my last 7 VIN, but then the decoder got stuck in search mode with no result. I will try again later.

It used to work OK in English, a year ago. Then it went Russian and required a registration. I got registered with the help of google Russian translation, but now get emails from the site that I can't translate so I can't get out. Maybe if I tried really hard with a translator I could. Stay away.

I just tried the link and it worked fine. I had not previously noticed the ability to view, print and download the info as a PDF, so I did that, too.
The last thing on my car's list is a "battery master switch". That sounds very convenient. Where is it?

I understand the battery master switch is installed at the factory then removed by the dealership prior to sale. I'm guessing it is there so that the battery can't be accidentally drained between the factory and the dealership.

After googling BMW Z3 battery master switch, it seems to be a switch laid on the passenger seat connected to the battery by cables. When off, the battery was disconnected from parasitic drains during the long delivery process. To move the car during shipping -- truck, cargo ship, train -- the switch was turned on. At some point the final dealer removed the apparatus. It would be of no use to an owner.

Just tried this again this morning.

Yes it still works, and yes you can save the info as a PDF.

Go to this English version of the page.
